Question Do you think it is ok for a man to wear compression pantyhose for health reasons?
I really have achy legs and at one time a doctor thought I had a blood clot at first, but I used to be a long distance runner and now I bike. When I lay down at night I cannot sleep because my legs hurt. The Doctor recommended I wear compression socks or pantyhose. I tried the compression socks at first, but when I tried the pantyhose they work much better. I have always shaved my leggs for biking, and the pantyhose is 8-15 mm/HG compression Futuro or Jobst. The problem is that they do have the appearance of normal women's pantyhose. I do wear them under my pants most of the time and sometimes I sleep in them and I feel like 98 percent better, but when I wore them out with shorts once everyone was giving me strange looks. I really do not mind that, but I have not had a girlfriend in awhile and I have settled down enough to get one again. Do you think most women would understand if they know what the pantyhose are for? My sister and cousin thinks it is ok, but wierd at first.

Best Answer of course its ok! I know real working cowboys who wear them to survive the extreme cold too. Do what's good for your health. A real woman will know the difference between doing it for a good reason and just being kinky. Just a thought...avoid the hot pink fishnet types ;) heheh

Question How to treat and healing time for leg abrasion?
Somehow, back in July 2012 i found this red mark on my leg just above my ankle.I didn't think that much of it but before i new it ....it had spread up my leg. I am a man of 65 yr.s old and in very good shape. I went to my Dr. he really did not know what it was, and neither did i. It is now March, and here is the problem. It is red, swells during the day to about a inch, it ooz'z clear water. No pain, itch, it is just ugly, dry[ to which i have to keep moist], and i now wear compression socks. There is no infection of any kind. I think, from all that i read on the computer that this is a "Road Rash abrasion". I finally figured out how this is happening,..I have RSL[restless leg syndrome]. My leg must be trembling in my sleep on the sheet, and causing a friction abrasion, and that is why it is having a hard time healing. I have followed all the remedys for healing. I WANT to know HOW long does it take to heal!!!! My DR. says that it is aVenous stais ulcer in the making. I don't agree,..WHY...because i have found out that after any size abrasion psorisis follows....which it has. I have never had that before, and i am running out of patience! If there is any knowledgiable Nurse, Dr. of any practice, any one in the health field that can give me advice, on treatment, TIME duration of healing, PLEASE answer this plea for help. I very rarily use the " Answer" section to put out a plea for help,..BUT i am backed into the wall on this issue. Best Answer My husband developed a nasty ulcer on his elbow after an olecranon repair surgery got infected.
