Pedifix Stretch Socks

Stretch Socks fit easily over enlarged feet, ankles, and calves as well as bandages and casts. For added comfort, they feature resilient non-bunching construction and extra padding from the back of the heels to the tops of toes - properties particularly beneficial to people with foot pain, arthritis, diabetes, obesity, and swelling. These innovative socks include Micro-COOL, an exclusive treatment process that allows the hosiery to absorb perspiration and move it away from the skin so it evaporates. Micro-COOL also contains an agent to inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungus within sock fibers, which helps prevent foot odor and athlete's foot.

Yahoo Answers For Diabetic Support Hose
Question Support hose- What kind and where to go?
My aunt has suggested that I wear support hose since my job involves me standing the majority of the time. Her reasons- to ease leg pressure and decrease likelihood of developing varicose veins. I have never worn them, so I don't know what kind (brands, pressure, etc.) to buy. Or where the best place to go to find them for a reasonable price (I have to stick to my budgets). Knee high? Thigh high? Full hose? Any suggestions? Are diabetic socks similar?
Best Answer You can just go to Penney's. The ladies who work in the lingerie department are well-trained and will be able you perfectly. :)

Question My knees swell and now my ankles on both sides are swelling and I can't walk to good what can be causing this?
I ahve gone to the doctor and one wants to mask it with corizone shots and the other just wants to put me on pills. I want to no what is causing this or what direction I should go in the next time I go to the doctor. I am not diabetic, I have mild blood pressure. and I have been gaining weight also without changing anything I eat except I cut out cold cuts for heather choices.
Best Answer Hi Read all sodium contents in prepared foods. Never consume more than 2gm max. each day (2000mg) & try not to use added salt until this gets under control. Any extra fluid in your body tissues causes weight gain & a lot of it! Try yoga to improve circulation to extremities (your legs). Always prop your legs up whenever you can, even at night with a pillow. You apparently have a tendency towards dependent edema.....lots of ppl do, myself included. It can be due to your heart not being in good enough shape, your valves in your leg veins weakening---these return blood to the heart. The idea is to get that swelling to go through your body & out your kidneys. Some ppl have kidney problems that cause this, because the kidneys don't work well enough. I'm prob. much older than you are, so occasionally I have to either: Go for a massage, take a mild diuretic, go to the hot tub/sauna & steam room, work out in the yard & sweat a lot or use support hose for a few days straight. These work great for me when the swelling caused pain. Mine comes & goes now... As for your knees, these can swell due to arthritis in the actual knee joint----or it can be from swelling of the entire leg that is settling in the knees. Do your knees hurt at all? How about your back? You say you have high BP. Usually this goes along with a mild case of arteriosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries. You might ask the doctor to test your cholesterol and triglycerides. Mine was shocked to find out that I had a level of 307 in my 40's (& I don't eat fatty foods) He said it was hereditary & must be treated to help avoid heart problems, etc. Hope this helps or gives you an idea as to what to talk with your doc about next time.
