Question Why does my knee swell up when i stand long periods of time?
When i stand for a long time my right knee, sometimes left, starts to ache and get sore and it feels like it swells up. So i have to sit and then pressure off of it makes it even more sore. Help?

The pain can get worse when you fully flex or extend your knee or when you're active. A Baker's cyst, also called a popliteal cyst, is usually the result of a problem with your knee joint, such as arthritis or a cartilage tear. Both conditions can cause your knee to produce too much fluid, which can lead to a Baker's cyst. Although a Baker's cyst may cause swelling and make you uncomfortable, treating the probable underlying problem usually provides relief. Follow the P.R.I.C.E. principles. These letters stand for protection, rest, ice, compression and elevation. Protect your leg by using crutches to take the weight off the knee joint and to allow pain-free walking. Rest your leg. Ice the inflamed area. Compress your knee with a wrap, sleeve or brace. And elevate your leg when possible, especially at night. Try non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or acetaminophen. NSAIDs, such as aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), and similar drugs, can help relieve pain, as can acetaminophen (Tylenol). Prescription NSAIDs can provide higher doses and greater potency than over-the-counter NSAIDs. Lymph-edema is swelling of an arm or leg due to obstruction of the flow of lymph, a milky-looking body fluid. The primary treatment for lymph-edema remains the use of good elastic stockings. Question How do you sew socks to stockings - Costuming?
I'm making a cosplay costume from scratch and part of the costume requires me to attach some knee-high socks to a pair of normal skin-coloured stockings. I have only sewn when absolutely necessary in the past and have no idea of higher concepts other than just taking a needle and thread doing your most basic in-out stitch... thing... (I have no grasp of the technical language either sorry, haha) So I was just wondering if this type of stitch would work fine for sewing the socks to the stockings or if I needed to read a tutorial of some sort (tried researching my problem but couldn't find anything threw the multitude of Christmas stocking sewing patterns), or if I need to borrow a friend's machine / find a friend willing to do it for me. If possible though I'd like to do it myself as a learning experience as I want to get better at costuming. The socks I'm using are fairly basic, thin socks... not 100% sure on the material sorry, but your average sock. The stockings are (just reading off the packet): CLiO Italian Leg Support Pantyhose, 20 denier, medium compression, flat seams, cotten gusset. Composition: Nylon / Elastane / Cotton Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you! *through... sorry Just to clarify - I'm sewing them together as I'll be cutting the socks to a certain odd shape which will compromise their elasticity and therefore their ability to stay up without crumpling. So I decided sewing them to some stockings would be the best way to help them retain their shape.
